'A la Mort Subite' or Sudden Death may be quite an unconventional name for a beer cafe, but it is one of the most well-known cafes in Brussels which serves classic Belgian beers like the kriek or the lambic. The name originated from the dice game played by the local employees in the old times. Decorated in the 1920's style with wooden chairs, tables and interiors are done in Art Deco style, the bar welcomes guests in a traditional manner. Of the two decks, the upper deck has been kept as a smoke-free zone. The beers are best tried with cheese, open sandwiches, chips or salami.
